Message from Fr. Rey
Brothers and Sisters,
Saint Theresa of Avila, in chapter 34 of her book, The Way of Perfection, tells us, "that when she heard people say they wished they had lived when Christ walked on this earth, she would smile to herself, for she knew that we have Him as truly with us in the Most Holy Sacrament as people had Him then, and wonder what more they could possibly want." How blessed we are to have Jesus with us every day!
As we approach the celebration of our Parish Feast Day - the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ, we are sharing with you many ways to increase your faith in Jesus. The Real Presence of Jesus in Holy Eucharist is "the source and summit" of our faith. If we do not believe this, then our faith is in vain! In this e-newsletter alone, we share with you the opportunities for a Corpus Christi novena, reading Bishop Olmsted's apostolic exhortation, watching a video study series, and participating in adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in our chapel. Our parish is indeed centered around Jesus!
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support of our parish and staff as we continue to modify mask and physical distancing protocols at our Masses and other events. We spend much time in prayer and discussion, desiring to do what is best for our parish family! As we head into summer, we still have a few events happening: VBS for the kids, an EPIC Bible Study for adults, and Steubenville West for the teens - and then we are ready to roll out the red carpet for parish activities this fall! We look forward to many opportunities to gather as a family of families!
Be Healthy, Be Smart, Be Holy!
Be Happy!
Fr. Rey
